Frequently Asked Questions
Who & what ages do you work with?
I suggest the youngest age to start training is 3rd grade. Otherwise, I work with all ages! I believe that the sooner an athlete is introduced to mental training, the more ahead of the game an athlete will become. Eventually, mental training and techniques will be part of an athlete’s cognitive thinking and overall well-being.
Any age can benefit from mental training. Mental training is all about recognizing, changing, adapting and performing a certain way. From 3rd grade - adult ages, MMP will work with you!
What does working with you look like?
My role in an athlete’s life is to be just like any other supportive, encouraging, fun and helpful coach. However, my type of coaching is different than a typical coach - I work specifically with the mind and it’s complexity. My main priority is to create a strong, trusting and fun relationship with my athletes. When rapport is created, we open doors to various unknown opportunities for the athlete. As a coach, I want communication outside of my of my office with my athlete. I want to know how practice went, how their test went that they were worried about, and how their tournament went the past weekend. I want to know what things went well and what things were familiar/the same. I want to be a text, email or phone call away for my athletes! Working with me means you get all of my support and confidence in you as a person and as an athlete. I will always be rooting for you, even if you aren’t rooting for yourself yet!
What do you suggest for training?
Getting through my door is the hardest yet most important step! I am proud of every athlete that is strong enough to chat with me. That being said, I suggest that athletes meet with me once a week or biweekly, depending on if the athlete is in or out of season. When the athlete and I can be consistent together, we are able to check in, rearrange plans, discuss new and/or upcoming struggles or worries the athlete may have, master techniques, and have fun while doing it! By being adaptive, open and consistent, we can elevate the athletic mind.
How do I schedule myself or my child?
You can do one of two things :
1. You can reach out to me directly by submitting a submission form through this website or through other contact methods.
2. If you know you want to schedule, there is a link connected in the pricing tab listed above. Here you will be able to my availably and navigate which days/times works best for your schedule.
Do you take insurance?
Unfortunately, my services cannot be ran through insurance. However, I have had success with Health Saving accounts. If you have an HSA account, you can pay directly through the account and I will be able to provide you with a receipt to send to insurance.
Do you work with teams/schools/organizations?
Yes! I do work with club teams, high schools, colleges, etc. Coaches typically reach out to me directly about speaking to their team 2-3x per season. I will meet with the coach (or whoever is in charge of the group) at the beginning to get the dynamics and any specific challenges they see interfere with their athletes. From there, I target my group sessions around a specific topic. I follow along with the team’s season & check in with the coaches/athletes. I make it a priority to stop by practices, games, meets, etc. as much as I can to familiarize myself with the team. I also offer individual discussions with the athletes that take interest in helping their mental game!
